    You have to know what a demo crew would charge to remove the house, foundation, and haul away, keeping the property to sell once it was cleared. For $8K you're buying land and a mess to clean up. So what does the average price per acre go for there? Would you profit from that after all said and done? Hard to know until you crunch numbers.

    What did you find? Sounds like air getting in fuel system. Before trying to start was the primer bulb soft? Try bleeding the system before starting. There should be no bubbles from the filter bleed screw. Open bleed valve squeeze bulb shut valve squeeze bulb until firm then try to start. If it starts and run right you are getting air in the system. Or start it when it is running right shut it off and restart if it starts and runs right shut it off and come back in 3 or more hrs and see if it starts and runs right.

    Here is a comment for the algorithm. That said. This was pretty cool. Partially torn on the thought of the loss of bush land but also respect the need to put land to use. I remember when these machines came out and Seismic companies started using them for avoidance seismic lines. Overall I would say they save more of the environment than the opposite.

      I took out quite a few Sweet gum saplings, but the majority of what I was taking out was brush, dead fall, and forest floor debris. I honestly am past due for a controlled burn on the forest floor in my pines. Better to control a burn and get rid of the fuel now than to have someone flick out a cigarette butt and cause a major fire to break out.

    • @vhayne91777
      @vhayne91777 8 месяцев назад

      I purchased a T870 with a forestry mulcher, back in 2013 to make ATV trails on my land (150 acres). Everyone thought I was nuts when I said I wanted to cut trails with a "Bobcat". The mulcher wasn't a well known product back then. But I was able to cut about 6 miles of trails with it, and they are still there. It's a great machine and makes hard work, easy. Unfortunately I do not own it anymore, but I'm now looking to buy another. The T86.

    • @MarkWilliam-pl6qs
      @MarkWilliam-pl6qs 7 месяцев назад

      Let me give you some insight in forestry management. Keeping this under brush cut down is good for the forest. It makes more room for sun light to reach the forest floor allowing the remaining trees to grow better. By not properly managing your forests you end up with the massive forest fires you see destroying millions of acres of our National Forests every year and with it entire ecosystems for hundreds of square miles... The government doesnt log our National Forests, they don't thin them, they don't cut fire breaks or fire lanes, they don't perform controlled burns, so the forest floor ends up becoming a tinder box waiting for a small spark. once it catches on fire the government sends out a bunch of union "experts" and millions of dollars of equipment and sit back and let it burn! This is the difference between environmentalism and common sense forestry management conservation

    • @vhayne91777
      @vhayne91777 7 месяцев назад

      @@MarkWilliam-pl6qs I own 150 acres of rural land, that is especially hilly (like mountains). About half of it was timbered and replanted (pines), before we purchased it around 13 years ago. I did cut many very wide trails through it all for atv riding, but you can fit trucks in there as well, so not sure if that would be considered "firebreaks" or not. But I honestly have no idea how to actually "thin" them out, except by hand with chainsaws. I want to keep it wooded and thick, but I don't want to hurt the growth of the trees either. And of course fires worry me too. I don't think the forestry mulcher on a CTL will help me much on this topic. And other suggestions?

    What is the max width of a tree...seems under 5 in? SC has that thick young evergreen forest. I've seen tall pines, older growth along the highway in the south. Different forest in WV, I have 5 acres of Oak, Black Locust, Ironwood, and Poplar trees over 10 to 24 inches. My neighbors seem to rent a good excavator and push them down or drop them with a chainsaw for firewood.

      Pines are like butter to these things. Hardwoods can take some time. I've mulched many 8-10 inch pines. I wouldn't try more than 6-8 inchs on a hardwood though. Also, not sure why the OP went with the push-cut tactic. That works too, but it's just more fun to reach up, cut the tree about 10ft up, then grind the stump all the way down. Pines just disappear like that. :)

    Being a bobcat mechanic I love an hate the R-series, Granted im not running the machines hours a day just getting in and out of them and moving them to my bay, or testing/verifying repairs and complaints, I love the R series cabs much better than the M, G or K series without having that big chaincase tunnel in the middle, you can actually work on the hydraulic system without having to lay on your stomach or lean over the side of the machine. Working on the engine is much nicer since the cooler gets out the way and you dont have the frame in your face. Electrical issues by far the biggest issue with r series and my thought is because they switched to ground controlled everything. To be honest apart from rare cases the R-series hydraulic and engine wise are very good. Next biggest issue is cleaning r-series they have very few drains and a lot of material gets under the cab especially on track machines and it absolutely sucks to get it out
